COVID-19 Update 12th May 2020:

COVID – 19 Update for Restaurants and Bars

Please be patient while the Pauanui Club is working out the kinks of the new rules implemented by the Government.  We have listed below some of the new regulations that we have to follow to ensure your safety.
The Club will be open Thursday 14th of May to Sunday 17th of May, closed Monday the 18th and Tuesday the 19th of May and will reopen again Wednesday the 20th of May.  From 12pm till 8pm ish.  Easter trading rules will apply, food needs to be purchased with alcohol, which is why Trevor and his team with Sun Trap Café will be open from 12pm.  We are waiting on the regulations from TAB and Gaming for operation.

  1. ALL Members must swipe their membership cards upon entry and exiting the Club.
  2. All non-members must see a staff member to complete visitors’ book.
  3. ONLY 4 people to a table and unfortunately tables cannot be moved.
  4. Courtesy Vehicle services will be postponed till further notice during COVID 19 level 2.
  5. Members Draw will resume on May 29th with entry to the Club for members only. (max 100 people in Club at a time)
  6. Hand sanitising stations are in place, please use them as required.
  7. Entry to the Club will only be through the front door.
  8. The Restaurant and Bar will be endeavoring to use the server system as required by the Government.
  9. Please stay safe and make sure you are social distancing.

Roast & Raffles will commence this Thursday night May 14th we hope to see you there.

Trevor and his team at Sun Trap Café will be continuing with his takeaways.  So, this new service will be staying.

During this difficult time, we would prefer cashless operation, which would be either payWave or by crediting money on to your Membership card.

Thank you to the Members that have supported the Club during these very trying times especially those who have asked for their early payment credit to be reversed and members that have made donations to the Club.
We appreciate your continued patronage of the Pauanui Club and look forward to seeing you soon.

COVID-19 Update 28th April 2020

As you are all aware, we are now at COVID-19 Alert Level 3.  How does this affect us at the Pauanui Club?  The Club will remain closed with a few exceptions.  We are happy to be able to advise that under Level 3 guidelines we will be able to re-open the Restaurant, under the initiative of Trevor from Kai Thyme, for takeaways and deliveries only (Click here for more on the Restaurant) and Pines Golf Course on WEDNESDAY 29th APRIL 2020.  The Lakes Course and Bowling Greens at this stage will remain closed.

The Golf Shop will be open from 9.00am on Wednesday 29th April to accept Tee time bookings by phone only (Ph 864 8695 extn 3), NOT ONLINE!  Tee times will be 10 minutes between players and players must be part of a bubble, please do not organise meeting friends to play a round with at this time.
Coffee to go and essential merchandise, Golf Balls etc,  will be available, however I refer you to clause 9 in the Guidelines below.  There will be no hire equipment, golf carts or trundlers available at this point.

A hole will be placed in the middle of each green for golfers to have a good understanding where the hole is on all the Greens. The cup will be placed upside down in the hole to reduce any chance of contamination as well as the removal of flags, rakes etc from the course.
All players MUST have completed their details on the “contact trace register” with Jo at the Golf Shop before commencement of play.  Players found on the Golf course who have not registered on the contact register maybe fined under the Alert Level 3 regulations.  Any player seen on the Lakes Course will be reported and will also face a probable fine.  Non registered casual golfers who attempt to play a round starting from other holes on the Pines course will be reported – we have to maintain a zero tolerance to this happening.
Unfortunately there will be no Club competitions or organised club days during Alert Level 3, however we will keep you all updated when we receive further information from NZ Golf.

Please click here for the NZ Golf Specific Operational Guidance for Golf Clubs.

Finally, the Guidelines that have been agreed to between Government and NZ Golf are relatively straight forward, and I would like to reiterate that we all keep safe and enjoy this return to Golf.
